After a brief decline in the 1960s, the area emerged as a true urban neighborhood in the 1980's resulting from the rehabilitation or reuse of historic buildings. Today, the neighborhood features over 1,000 apartment units and condominiums, vast office space, upscale restaurants and nightclubs.
