Brooklyn Centre<*dv_0*>The vicinity of Pearl Road and Archwood Avenue form the core of the 19th century settlement known as Brooklyn Centre, which was home to the first European settler west of the Cuyahoga River. Annexed to Cleveland in the 1890s, Brooklyn Centre contains a variety of 19th and 20th century architectural styles illustrated by the homes lining Archwood Avenue. In recent times, a new shopping district has emerged to serve both residents and visitors.
